Cultural Festival “Around the world in 6 days” DAY 3. KENYA
“Around the world in 6 days” came to… Kenya on the third day! This time the hosts were the youngest students of MYP – grade 5B. They invited all guests to a safari and instructed them not to pet any animals they might encounter there. Then, to the sounds of a Kenyan song, the MYP community learned about this beautiful African country. While moving through the labyrinth of savanna grasses, the guests listened to the most important information about the country’s geography, its national parks, vegetation and, of course, animals. There was a talk about the Kenyan flag, its symbolism and history. We also learned about the characteristics of the Maasai, the indigenous people of this part of the world. We watched a reenactment of the Masai jumping competition, and then we listened to the legend about where the zebra got its stripes and a short history of Kenyan runners. At the end, all visitors enjoyed a well-deserved refreshment of African infusions and snacks.
