Cultural Festival “Around the world in 6 days” Day 2. ICELAND
The second day of the Festival belonged to grade 6B, who took the MYP community on a journey around Iceland. The classroom surprised everyone with its white, black and green decoration referring to the landscape of the island of fire and ice. The guests were welcomed by two elves and a Viking, who invited everyone to have some rest on the grass. Thanks to the presentations, we learned a lot about the history, political system, culture and extraordinary natural wealth of this country. We also learned about the symbolism of the flag, emblem and name of the country and learned many interesting facts. Since Iceland has a lot in common with the history of the Vikings, you could take a souvenir photo as a Viking in a monidel. Additional attractions awaited students at the remaining stands: real Icelandic moss, sheep yarn used to produce traditional sweaters, passports with names written in accordance with Icelandic language rules, and music from this region of the world. The sixth graders also prepared a tasting of products which are typical of this country.
