Cultural Festival “Around the world in 6 days” DAY 4. PERU
Last Friday, students of grade 5A took the remaining MYP grades on a trip to a distant country – Peru. Their classroom reflected the amazing, magical atmosphere of this country. It was decorated with drawings of the Nazca lines, rainbow-coloured Vinicunca mountains, photos of the Amazon rainforest and a building modeled on Inca cities, which, as it turned out, concealed… a golden treasure! At the beginning, the girls danced the traditional Peruvian dance “Valicha”. Then the students told us about the most famous Andean place – Machu Picchu and the entire Inca Empire. They introduced us to Peru in the past and explained what it looks like today. We also learned what dishes are typical of this region and what famous people are Peruvian. Guests could try handmade, traditional Alfajores cookies and delicious salads with the gold of the Incas, i.e. quinoa. Big applause for our youngest MYP students for their ingenuity, creativity and energy put into preparing this day!
