Warsaw Gymnastics Championships

Just before the May weekend, the Warsaw Gymnastics Championships took place. Teams that had previously won the District Championships, including many sports schools/sports classes with a gymnastics profile, joined the competition in the finals of the Warsaw Youth Olympics.

The boys made their debut on the poviat arena and, despite their little experience, they presented the school with dignity in three gymnastics competitions, i.e. jump over the voult, trick on the bar and free exercises on the gymnastics path. In all competitions, both for boys and girls, the details of the performed exercises turned out to be very important, such as straight back, stretched legs, height of the swing or smoothness of the movement.

Our girls fought bravely and showed their strengths during balance exercises on the gym bench, free exercises on the path and in the jump over the voult. Each competition was assessed by 2-3 experienced judges, who very meticulously, and sometimes also very harshly, awarded points to the competitors for individual performances.

Athletes in sports gymnastics are required to have high physical fitness. Versatility and balance are also important, which are the characteristics of the IB student’s profile. You need to be strong, flexible and well-coordinated to keep your balance when doing a handstand or bridge. Our students showed all the above features and presented the school in professional gymnastic costumes.Although sometimes it is difficult to compete with very well-equipped schools that have their own gym and train typically for competitions, we will definitely not stop there! We don’t give up 🙂
