Mokotów Swimming Championships in the children’s age category

On November 29, 2023, the Mokotów Swimming Championships in the children’s age category took place as part of the Warsaw Youth Olympics.

The first girls to start the competition were: Helena (7A), Emilia (6A), Zara (6A), Maja (5A), Michalina (4B), Ola (4A), Ira (4A) and Lila (3B). The 8x25m freestyle relay already showed the strength of our team – we finished it in 3rd place, right behind SP 307 and SP 272. Then, our students started the individual competition:

  • Ola took 2nd place in the 25 meters backstroke
  • Lila took 8th place in the 25m freestyle
  • Ira took 3rd place in the 25m freestyle
  • Michalina took 2nd place in the 25m backstroke
  • Maja took 3rd place in the 50m classic style
  • Zara took 7th place in the 50m freestyle
  • Emilia took 4th place in the 50m freestyle
  • Helena took 7th place in the 50m freestyle

As the competition was mainly of a team nature, at the end the entire teams were also awarded for the sum of time from the relay and individual races, where our team won 3rd place, recognizing the superiority only of the hosts from Primary School 307 and our colleagues from the Primary Sports School from Piaseczyńska (SP 272). . It should be mentioned that the second place was only 4 seconds away! And the advantage over the next places was almost 50 seconds.

The boys were the second to enter the swimming pool. Unfortunately, despite the efforts of physical education teachers and openness, several students did not manage to field a full team, so they were left with individual competition:

  • Cyryl (3A) reached the finish line in the 25m backstroke in 5th place
  • Feliks (3A) reached the finish line in the 25m freestyle in 2nd place
  • Vlad (4B) reached the finish line in the 25m backstroke in 1st place
  • Tadeusz (4A) reached the finish line in the 25m freestyle in 10th place
  • Robert (5B) reached the finish line in the 50m classic style in 2nd place
  • Leon (7A) reached the finish line in the 50m breaststroke in 4th place
  • Janek (6A) reached the finish line in the 50m freestyle in 4th place

Congratulations to all participants! It’s great to witness the progress and great team spirit. We are glad that our persistent work during the school swimming pool and other afternoon activities is paying off.
