Day 5. Wednesday March 29th – Brazil – Grade 5B
As part of the ongoing “Around the world in 6 days” Festival, the MYP community visited hot and dancing Brazil!
Grade 5B took us to the largest country in South America. The students told us about the political system, history, flag symbolism, and the modernist and modern capital – Brasilia. They also talked about the problem of slums around Brazilian cities, as well as about the largest forest in the world, the Amazon and the primitive human tribes living in it.
Of course, the story about this country would not be complete without a reminder that Brazil is a country of people who love sports, dance, fun and food! Further presentations showed us the phenomenon of Brazilian football, the secrets of the local cuisine and the madness of the local carnival. Saying goodbye to Brazil was sweetened by original Brazilian sweets!
