Day 4. Monday March 27th – Japan, grade 7A
As part of the event – 6 days around the world – on Monday the MYP community visited the country of the cherry blossoms – Japan. At the beginning, the students of class 7A greeted the guests with a common Japanese bow and a loud “Kon’nichiwa” (こんにちは). Then they shared geographical curiosities and reported on Japanese customs. We also listened to specialists’ answers to such questions as the most difficult word or the most interesting holiday in their country. After this short introduction, we moved experimentally to Japan. Origami workshops and joint creation of butterflies, learning characteristic calligraphy and sumo wrestling stimulated the senses and imagination of the guests. Finally, the students could visit the prepared exhibition with manga and learn from a fan of vehicles some facts about communication and vehicles in this remote corner of the world. After the presentation and workshops, it was time to taste Japanese specialties in the form of tea, oyakata and mochi. It was a very interesting day full of emotions.
