Second issue of Gazeta Monneta
It is the beginning of March. The days are getting longer and the sun is shining more and more. However, this year’s early spring is different than usual. After the excitement of going back to school in the autumn, most of the teachers and students of our school have been staying at home since mid-October. Lessons have moved to the Internet. The only contact with students are online meetings on MS Teams.
Despite these difficulties, the second issue of Gazeta Monneta is not only released on time, but is even more extensive than the last one and full of inspiring news.
We present you over 20 articles, mostly written in English. The topics you will read about correspond to the area of interest of our students. The students write about art and music, literature, politics and sport. The second issue also includes social topics (animal care), articles related to the current situation in the country (the recently widely discussed issue of media freedom), or one of the world’s leading healthcare topics.
I am glad that students from Primary School are getting more and more involved in co-creating Gazeta Monneta.
In January, we received very sad news about the death of Mr. Jerzy Piskorski, the co-founder of our school. Both teachers and students remember Mr. Piskorski in the latest issue of our newspaper. Special thanks go to the Principal of Monnet International School, Mrs. Hanna Buśkiewicz-Piskorska, for placing a short memoir in Gazeta Monneta.
This year’s winter was harsh, sad and long. We say goodbye to it with some relief. The second issue of Gazeta appears in the early spring. In a moment, nature will begin its new cycle. And we will gain new strength. I trust that the texts in the following issue will bring us all a bit of respite and help us gain spring spirit.
Congratulations to all the authors and I am very impressed with their creativity.
I invite you all to have a great read.
Editor-in-chief of Gazeta Monneta.
