We learn languages at Monnet! What’s your Superpower? 

On Friday September 29th, Monnet Festival of Languages, a celebration of linguistic diversity, took place in grades 0-4 of PYP.

Today’s Festival started with the teachers welcoming everyone in 8 different languages: Italian, Chinese, Greek, Ukrainian, French, German, English and Polish.

The pupils, under the guidance of their teachers, prepared fantastic artistic performances in their chosen language for today.

Class 0 presented a song in sign language.  Class 1a sang a song: “Huvud, axlar, knän och tår” and presented school supplies in Swedish, while class 1b taught us the words and sang a song: “11 november is de dag” in Dutch.

2a introduced us to basic phrases in German and sang a song: ‘Grün, grün, grün sind alle meine Kleider’. 2b also put on colours , singing for us: “Los Colores” in Spanish.    

Class 3a spoke to us in Korean and danced to the rhythm of Korean songs, while 3b prepared posters and presented vocabulary in Czech.

Class 4a prepared scenes from everyday life for us in French, and 4b recited Julian Tuwim’s poem ‘Lokomotywa’ in Croatian!
