Mokotów Championship – Athletics

On Friday, May 13, 2022 with beautiful weather accompanying the Mokotów Championship in 4 athletics for children and athletics ? for 7-8 grades. This competition, part of the district competition as part of the Warsaw Youth Olympics, was one of the last highlights of the sports competition this school year, and the qualifying rounds for the Warsaw Championships.

The first to compete were our brave children’s teams in 4 athletics, where each representative had to present himself in 4 competitions:

• spring (60 meter run)
• long jump
• toss of a jerk ball
• medium run (girls – 600m, boys – 1000m)

Our teams, which were a combination of experience and youth, presented themselves very bravely, marking their participation in individual competitions. As a standard, our school was represented by children 2-3 years younger than other schools, so we can be confident about the future. The experience gained will pay off! ?

The girls’ team was: Natalia (7A) – captain, Weronika (5A), Emilia (4A), Vasylyna (3A), Rebeka (3A), Maja (3A).

The boys’ team was represented by: Michał (7A) – captain, Jorden (7A), Natan (7A), Luca (6B), Borjan (6A), Mateusz (4B).

After the over 3-hour long competition of the youngest was over, our equally gifted young people joined their competitions. Here, everyone in a modest 8-person representation had the opportunity to stand on the podium and win the medal of the Mokotów Championship! Wow ??

In individual competitions, medals and the right to represent the district in the Warsaw Championships were won by:

• Lea (8A) in the long jump: silver ? medal at the Mokotów Championship
• Bruno (8A) in shot put: bronze ? medal of the Mokotów Championship

In addition, at the end of the day, the relay race began, including the so-called “Olympic” relay, where each participant from a given team has a different distance to cover (800/400/200/100). These are extremely spectacular relay races where versatile runners are needed and everything is changing dynamically.

The boys’ relay consisting of: Bruno, Antek, Dominik (all 8A) and Tymon (7A) won the bronze medals of the Mokotów Championships

The girls’ relay consisting of: Julia, Erika, Lea (all 8A) and Varvara (7A) won the silver medals of the Mokotów Championships

Way to go! It was great to watch you competing and giving your all at the stadium! ???
