“Here and There. Tales of travel, travelers and travelers” – Class 4 trip to the Ethnographic Museum 

Just before the holidays, students of grades 4, as part of the currently implemented unit of inquiry, with the central idea of which is: “People change where they live to improve their circumstances” went to the Ethnographic Museum for a lesson combined with a tour of the exhibition: “Here and there. Tales of travel, travelers and travelers”.

The exhibition was an extraordinary journey for them through 7 thematically planned spaces of the Children’s Museum. 

The fourth graders learned about different maps, drew a plan to get to the Museum, practiced mindfulness, sharpened their senses, activated their imagination, and recalled proverbs and sayings related to travel. They also learned who the bards were and their importance to the community. They arranged chronologically the means of transportation used over time. 

What they liked most, however, was that the exhibition included interactive and multimedia elements for them to test on their own. They faced many puzzles, tasks and trivia as they wandered through the exhibition. Throughout the tour, they developed traits from the Learner Profile: Open-minded, Inquirer and Communicator.  

Some said that it was the best trip so far!
