25 years of the PYP

On Monday 19 June, at 12 noon sharp, we started the celebration of the 25th anniversary of PYP. The event was organised outside the school, at the Norblin Factory, at KinoGram.

The first part featured a concert by the school’s Monnet Band, which presented the songs: ,,Satisfaction” and ,,Higher Ground”. The whole concert part was supervised by our irreplaceable music teacher, Magdalena Skawińska.

The school choir of MYP and DP students performed the school anthem for us and all the gathered guests: Final Jubilee.

The 4th Floor Theatre performed for us a play entitled: “Orpheus in Hell” based on the play by Konstanty Ildefons Galczynski. The theatre company comprised students from the High School and Year 7 of the Primary School, directed by Krystyna Szrajber. The performance aroused great interest and delight among both the younger and older part of the audience;)

In the second part (‘Hope for Action’), PYP students invited us to a birthday party of the… PYP! There was cake, presents, a film by Mr Jakub Machnikowski featuring our PYP teachers and students, magic tricks and the occasional fairy tale. The students of Class 4 ran the whole event. Taking responsibility for this part, they proved that they are ready to make a positive impact on the world. Joy, enthusiasm and creativity were in the air! We would like to thank Aneta Borkowska, our PYP programme coordinator, for coming up with the idea for such a celebration. She worked tirelessly to ensure that every detail of this part reflected the essence and impact of PYP on our school community. She wrote the commemorative story and monitored the filming. Although she was not with us, we felt her strong support!:)

Meanwhile, students’ artwork depicting the spirit of PYP in a non-obvious way was on display.

In the last part of the event, there was a concert by PYP students from kindergarten to the oldest PYP students, our fourth-graders.

Cheers to PYP! Another 25 years!
