The silent disco in our school got us thinking what would be the favorite song of the MYP floor, so the following week, my friend and I asked teachers and students two simple questions: What is your favorite song and what is your favorite music band? Here are some of the answers that received. Some we expected, but there were also some shocking ones.

Before asking around, we made some predictions about the possible answers, and here are some of them:

• “Fe!n” by Travis Scott. – That one was listed twice.
• “Espresso” by Sabrina Carpenter. – That one did not show up.
• “Blinding Lights” by The Weeknd. – Another one we got right.
• “Cruel Summer” by Taylor Swift. – This one was listed by Ms Zosia.
• “I Want It That Way” by Backstreet Boys. – This one we got right.
• “Unstoppable” by Sia. – That one we got right too.
• “Bye Bye Bye” by NSYNC. – This one did not appear on the list.
• „Die with a Smile” by Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars. – No one told us this one either.

The most popular response was “Fe!n” by Travis Scott. The thing that shocked us the most was that only one person told us that their favorite song was in Polish. It was our Spanish teacher, Ms Aleksandra. Her favorite song is „Prześliczna Wiolonczelistka.”

Among other answers were:

• „I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing” by Aerosmith. (Ms Kamila – our ethics teacher).
• „Whiskey in the Jar” by Metallica. (Mr Jakub – our physics teacher)
• „Blue” by Billie Eilish. (Mr. Jakub – our history teacher).
• „Make You Feel My Love” by Adele. (Ms. Olga – our biology teacher).

We also asked the people about their favorite music bands. Here are some of the answers:

• Queen
• Gorillaz
• Beyoncé (Note: Beyoncé is a solo artist, not a band)
• Depeche Mode
• The Beatles
• Pink Floyd
• Drake (Note: Drake is a solo artist, not a band)

There were also some students and teachers who said that their favorite music band was also the author of their favorite song, so here are some of them:

• Rick Astley
• Aerosmith
• Adele
• Metallica

In conclusion, we think that the answers were diverse, proving that not all people listen to the same music. Originally, we thought that there would be one song mentioned by about half of the people, but it turns out that we were wrong.
