Winners of the Translation Competition – Spring 2025

On April 16, the finals of the Translation Competition were held at Monnet International School. This time, our students undertook to translate poems from English, French, and Spanish. The winners were Urszula Jurczakowska from grade 3 DP for translating Emily Dickinson’s poem and Julia Laurosiewicz from grade 3 DP for translating Victor Hugo’s poem. Second place went to Michał Broda from grade 3 DP for translating Robert Frost’s poem. Third prize went to Filip Słowiński from grade 2 pre DP for translating Robert Frost’s poem. Honorable mentions were given to Tymon Kuskowski from grade 7 and Ksawery Kilianek from class 2 pre DP. The competition jury appreciated the poetic nature of the translations and the very good rendering of the original meaning in the texts. Big congratulations to the young translators!
