School Anniversary and Jerzy Piskorski Memorial Days at PYP

Also at PYP we celebrated our 33rd birthday and the anniversary of our school! 🎉 We celebrated the memory of our school’s co-founder, Jerzy Piskorski, during a concert by students of grades 3 and 4 on Tuesday, an exhibition of artwork in the building on Zbierska Street and other activities related to his passions. He was a man of many talents and passions who: loved exploring the world, photographing the beauty of Polish cities and towns, creating things out of wood and had a huge heart for animals.

🔍 A photographic journey through Poland

PYP students recognised places in Poland from his photos, looked for interesting facts about them and created a collective knowledge board.

📸 Photo walk

During class walks, the children took on the role of photographers, looking for unusual shots of nature, just like Mr Jerzy, who loved to capture moments in his lens.

🪑 Carpentry in miniature

Inspired by his passion for woodcarving, pupils assembled miniature pieces of furniture for the classroom house, developing manual skills.

🐴 An artistic tribute to animals

The students created portraits of animals that had a special place in his heart – Benefis the horse and Luna the dog.

Take a look at the results of the children’s creative and fun-filled activity!
