PYP Grade 2 Students Discover Why Water Is Priceless

Second-grade PYP students took part in a trip to the Regional Water Management Authority “Polish Waters”. The trip was organized as part of the ongoing Unit of Inquiry with the central idea: Water is a limited and essential resource for life. The visit also took place within the framework of the “Active Blue” program organized by “Polish Waters”, which our school has joined.

During the visit, students participated in workshops focused on water treatment, filtration, and water conservation. They learned about the purpose of a lock and were introduced to its operating mechanism through a demonstration conducted by a facility employee. After returning to school, the students collaboratively created a poster summarizing the knowledge they had gained about methods of conserving water.

Furthermore, as part of the Active Blue program, second-grade students also participated in an art competition entitled “New Year’s Resolutions for Water,” which provided an additional opportunity to further explore the topic of protecting and responsibly managing the Earth’s water resources.
