Last month, we worked on the line of inquiry: The importance of healthy habits and wellness to prevent diseases. We made posters about the diseases we selected based on the book “Cholera and Other Diseases”, which was brought by Nina. 

We explored the following topics: 

• Nina – depression and concussion 
• Emilia – cholera and rabies 
• Blanka – caries and cerebral hemorrhage 
• Janek: heart attack and diabetes 
• Mati: ADHD and tapeworm 
• Cuba: anorexia and hypertension. 

Each of us made a presentation in the form of a poster or a multimedia presentation. 

We have also made one group poster about health. 

On February 17, we were visited by Nina’s mother, who is a doctor and works at the Gynecology and Obstetrics Hospital at Karowa Street. We saw the outfit in which the doctor is working in the current epidemic situation. Emilia and Nina dressed in it and admitted that they felt uncomfortable and very hot in it. Nina’s mom told us that the medical profession is a way of life that requires a lot of sacrifice. If she had to choose again, she would also be a doctor. She also emphasized that it heals patients, not diseases. 

From next week, we are starting another research path: “Changes in medicine over time”. Today we borrowed a book entitled: “For the rescue. Medicine in the past and today” and we have started reading it!
