As part of the ongoing unit of inquiry on imagination, first-grade students explore concepts related to creative thinking and unconventional problem-solving. An important aspect of this learning process is also recognizing emotions and discovering different ways of expressing ourself.
To deepen understanding of the world of imagination, color, and emotions, the first-grade classes went on a field trip to the National Museum. During the visit, students explored how artists use color—both warm and cool—to express feelings and moods. Our guide presented selected artworks and encouraged students to observe carefully, reflect, and share their own interpretations. The trip was a valuable learning experience that naturally connected art with the development of imagination, emotional awareness, and critical thinking skills—key elements of the IB approach.
