Kazimierz Dolny

This year for the green school we went to Kazimierz Dolny. The magic of this place charmed us all. As real IB students, we discovered, explored and crossed not only the borders of Kazimierz, but also our own. During the first day we went by ravines for a long walk to the viewpoint – Albrechtówka. We also visited the old, traditional village – Mięcimierz. After fruitful regeneration on the banks of the Vistula River, we returned to the Kazmierz Square. We thought we knew this place very well. However, during the night tour it turned out that Kazimierz still has many unknown mysteries. An unusual night trip around Kazimierz Dolny was not just a walk with a guide. It was the discovery of the world of the former inhabitants of Kazimierz, the Jewish Cemetery, the Root Ravine, with the torchlight in our hands.

A green school is not only about exploring the place but also a great integration. 5th graders worked together and very creatively. Under the supervision of Ms. Kasia Grajkowska, they created mandalas from natural elements found during the walk. Also, with the support of Ms. Emilka Szafrańska, they learned a dance called the Belgian. It was not easy, but after many hardships it was possible to achieve a spectacular effect.

The crowning of the green school was a cruise on the Vistula. Thanks to the enormous efforts and involvement of one of the students, we managed to create a short video – the essence of the trip. And another green school in September !!!
