“Forest whispers”: green school for grades 2-4 in Brok
This school year we returned to the tradition of the September Green School.
On Wednesday 4 September, pupils from PYP classes 2-4 went to Brok for a three-day trip under the motto ‘Forest Whispers’, organised in the spirit of the IB PYP programme.
The children took part in a range of creative activities, explored nature, participated in an outdoor painting, singing and dancing around a campfire and sports activities.
On Thursday, the pupils listened to a story by Mr Jerzy Madzelan – a well-known historian and publicist in the region – who presented the history of Brok and introduced some important figures connected with the Brok area.
Friday saw two final events – a visit to a gallery of children’s works and a class theatre performance based on the inspiring biographies of local heroes: Jerzy Ficowski, Ludomir Benedyktowicz, Karol Count Potocki and Wiktor Godlewski.
According to our assumptions, the activities were governed by omnipresent inspiration, magical imagination, boundless creativity and the joy of learning!
Listening to the forest whispers, pupils integrated after the holidays, developed skills and qualities from the IB Pupil Profile, undertook collaboration, immersed themselves in nature and discovered their own potential.
