In recent days, the homeroom teacher of class 2A took on the role of an expert and, as part of the ongoing unit of inquiry with the central idea: “Living things need to adapt in order to survive,” conducted a lesson on bird spiders for second-grade students. During the classes students had the opportunity to learn what kind of animals spiders are, what lifestyle they lead, how their bodies are structured, what they need to survive, and how they have adapted to various environmental conditions. Naturally, the most exciting part for the students was the chance to observe the spiders up close, touch a shed exoskeleton covered in soft hairs, and witness the feeding process and hunting techniques of these fascinating creatures. As a summary, the students created beautiful drawings and notes in their Uoi notebooks. These were truly exciting and memorable days!
