As part of their PYP Exhibition inquiry into sustainable consumer choices, the 3IR’s Team students recently visited Punkt Zwrotny in Warsaw. The trip provided hands-on learning experiences that deepened their understanding of how everyday choices impact the environment. Duringthe “Światozmieniacze” workshop, students explored ways to give new life to old clothing. They designed creative clothes exchange boxes, which will soon be placed in the school to encourage the community to swap rather than discard clothes—promoting a more sustainable approach to fashion. In the Punkt Zwrotny escape room, students put their problem-solving skills to the test. Working collaboratively, they navigated through engaging puzzles related to sustainability. They learned about advertising techniques that influence our buying decisions, discovered how many litres of water it takes to produce a single pair of jeans, and traced where the threads in our clothes come from. These eye-opening facts reinforced the importance of making informed and responsible purchasing choices. Inspired by their experience, our students are eager to take action and spread awareness within the school community. Keep an eye out for their upcoming initiatives!
