Copernicus Science Centre – „Majsternia” workshop
On June 17th, 2025 as a part of their current unit of inquiry, the central idea of which is “Curiosity and inquisitiveness lead to discoveries and broaden our understanding of the world,” second-grade PYP students participated in an educational trip to the Copernicus Science Centre in Warsaw.
The visit provided an excellent opportunity for learning through play, as well as for fostering creativity and collaboration within groups. The excursion began with a self-guided tour of the interactive exhibition. Students were particularly fascinated by the modern robots and various technological innovations, which they could test and observe in action.
The second part of the visit involved a hands-on workshop in the “Majsternia” — a special creative construction zone. Students, divided into groups, were tasked with building different types of bridges using available materials. The activity required teamwork, ingenuity, and logical thinking. All groups completed the challenge successfully, and the task was accompanied by a great deal of excitement, laughter, and joy from the results achieved. This trip served as an excellent opportunity for experiential learning outside the classroom, nurturing students’ passions and enriching their project-based experiences.
