Bal Ósmoklasisty 2024
Ahhh what a ball it was.
The eighth-grade ball took place in our school this year for the first time and we hope it will not be the last. We managed to organize it despite many exciting and exhausting events that took place with the participation of the 8th grade last year, such as: language trips, the final of the community project, school entrance exams and eighth-grade exams.
At the end of May, students together with their form teachers and supporting teachers undertook to organize this wonderful event, which took place in June on the beautifully decorated fourth floor of our building on Belwederska Street. The official part of the ball was attended by the Principal Hanna Buśkiewicz-Piskorska together with the management staff of the primary school and teachers. The event also gathered a large representation of parents and representatives of our students’ families.
The performance began with a beautiful polonaise, which is a traditional part of proms and balls in Poland. The dance included many difficult figures and transitions, which thanks to the involvement of Mr. Piotr Ż. (an experienced dancer and choreographer) were mastered perfectly and in a flash. The students prepared and presented themselves brilliantly, which made a huge impression on the guests. The polonaise video can be watched on our school YouTube , and a short video of the preparations and the ball can also be watched on the school’s social media.
During the official part, the students and teachers thanked the principal, parents, teachers supporting them on their way to high school and each other. We could also watch a presentation of photos and listen to a short history of the class, starting from kindergarten through the PYP to the end of MYP program. In the next part of the evening, the students had a photo session and went for refreshments, after which they spent the next few hours having fun together to a playlist of their choice. There was no end to laughter, dancing and good fun. There was no shortage of joint dancing on the dance floor to the rhythmic “macarena” or the joyful “belgique”. The whole event was crowned by the peasants singing a capella the song “Sen o Warszawie”, which from the beginning of the eighth grade became a kind of class anthem and was sung regularly during green schools, language trips and other class events. We would like to congratulate and thank the students, parents and form teachers- Mrs. Emilia and Mrs. Kamila, and all the teachers and staff supporting the class for the last eight years, and sometimes even longer.
