Around the World in 6 Days – Day 3 Portugal

Today we moved to sunny Portugal. Students from grade 5A presented us with the history and geography of this beautiful country. The girls showed us traditional Portuguese games. Did you know that the most popular games in this country are rubber bands and sack jumping?

There were also some sports elements. The boys told us about the most famous athletes such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Luis Figo and Rosa Mota.

The next interesting facts presented were traditions and legends. Azulejos tiles could be seen on every wall of the room thanks to the beautifully created posters by the children. The legend of the rooster from Barcelos told by the students caused slight goosebumps, but fortunately it ended well. During the second part of the presentation, the guests could try delicious Portuguese delicacies such as pasteis de nata or cod pastes. Sardines were also served for the daredevils.

Numerous games and activities made the story of Portugal more enjoyable for the participants. Visitors could jump in a rubber band, play hopscotch, get a temporary tattoo or take a picture with a giant rooster, made by the students of grade 5A.

All of this was accompanied by calm Portuguese fado music.
Another successful festival day is behind us!
