Last Friday, students from class 7A took us on a journey to one of the Baltic countries, Lithuania, as part of the school festival 6 Days Around the World.
In a room transformed into a dense, dark and mysterious forest and decorated in traditional Lithuanian folk style, students could:
- gather information about the country’s geography,
- learn about the unique nature and exceptional history of Lithuania,
- find out what its most important tourist attractions are,
- enter the world of Lithuanian art and culture, which is extremely deeply rooted in nature, refers to nature and the original beliefs of the Baltic peoples,
- listen to stories about Lithuanian national sports, i.e. basketball and … mushroom picking (!),
- practice pronunciation of the Lithuanian language.
Finally, there was no way to miss out on tasting Lithuanian cuisine, because this country is famous for its delicious and extremely good quality food. If someone felt the need to burn a few calories after the tasting, they could play a traditional Lithuanian game of basketball in the hall or, in a more relaxed way, try to put together a model of the most famous monuments of Lithuanian art, such as the Trakai Castle.
