15 YEARS OF IB IN OUR SCHOOL
In early spring of 2003 there was an authorisation visit at our school, following which we received the IB DP certificate allowing us to implement the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme. The first IB exams were held in May 2006. In the course of 12 years 194 students received IB diplomas. At the beginning our students could choose between the Polish matura and IB exams. The majority opted for the Polish matura. There were years when less than 10 students would choose the IB exams. Then the proportions reversed. The class which will take IB examinations in May 2018 is exceptionally numerous! It is nearly 30 students! So far the biggest classes have not exceeded 21 students. The average results – above the global average – vary between 30 to 33 points, with the best students scoring over 40 points. The so called “pass rate” is almost 90%, and with the November re-take session – it is close to 100%. All our graduates seek higher education – in Poland or abroad. They study in Canada, Hong Kong, the Netherlands, Italy, Spain, Sweden, France, Mexico, Austria, Romania and the USA, including the Chicago University. Many people decide to study in the UK: at the University of Oxford, University of Warwick, University of London, University of the Arts in London, University of Sheffield, University of Kent, University of Glasgow, University of Stirling. Our graduates study also at the best Polish universities including the University of Warsaw, Medical University of Warsaw and Jagiellonian University.
It is worth noting that we are the only school in Poland which offers the IB programmes to students from kindergarten to the end of high school. We received the Primary Years Programme Certificate in 2010 and the Middle Years Programme Certificate in 2011.
