Parent handbookPrzedszkole Niepubliczne was founded in 1988 and located at Ursynów in Warsaw. In October 2006 the owner of Przedszkole Niepubliczne became Hanna Buśkiewicz-Piskorska. We offer education in three schools. Private Grammar School No 32 in the name of Jean Monnet and Private Secondary School No 33.
The school is housed in a residential street in a building which was originally a state kindergarten. The school has outdoor area with a playground equipped with a slide, a black board and sand boxes. There is a vegetable garden, managed by the students.
The students are organized into three grops: aged 3, 4 and 5-6 with two homeroom teachers. There are also additional engagements including English classes, speech therapy, music classes and physical education. We also offer afternoon classes not included in PYP programme; dancing, judo and religion.
The school is opened since 7.30 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. five days a week excluding public holidays and two weeks of summer holiday in August.
Important! Due to the whole staff collaborative planning meetings held twice a month in Niepubliczne Przedszkole Misia Paddingtona, the kindergarten operates from 7.30 a.m. to 3.00 p.m. every second and fourth Monday of a month. We kindly request parents to acknowledge this fact while planning their monthly routines.
We offer 3 meals which are prepared in our kitchen.
Every day children spend two hours in the garden or walk to the nearby parks. In the afternoon the youngest children can relax.
We accept children at the age of 3. The Principle explains the rules and introduces parents to the PYP programme. Parents have an opportunity to discuss any problems, doubts or educational needs of their child.
We offer the PYP programme created in 1997 by IBO – international educational organization oparating since 1968. The PYP programme is accepted by Polish Ministry of Education as a suitable for children aged 3-12. The programme helps a child to develop socialy, emotialy and intelectually.
There are six projects that form the PYP programme.
1. Who we are
2. Where we are in place and space
3. How we express ourselves
4. How the world works
5. How we organize ourselves
6. Shering the planet
During the school year children aged 3-4 have to undergo 4 projects and children aged 5-6 have to undergo 6 projects. The project lasts from 4 to 6 weeks. Projects “Who we are” and “How we express ourselves” are obligatory for all aged groups. All activities during the project are based on the knowledge and skills the children already had. On the base of the pre-assessment the teacher can learn what children know and can do. At the end of each project there is a summative assessment which can show what the children learned. The involvement of parents is very important in the educational process. We try to engage them into pre-assessment and summative assessment activities. Last year we introduced parent-student-teacher confrence.
Projects are prepared on colaborative planning meetings. The teachers agree on the main idea of the project, lines of inquiry, pre-assessments and summative assessments. We also choose usually three attitudes form the IB learner profile and transdisciplinaly skills. During collaborative meetings teachers prepare all activities for the whole project. After finishing the project teachers sum up their work and draw conclusions.
In our school we try to develope all attitudes from the IB profile. We wish our children to became inquirers, knowledgable, communicative and caring people.
Graduating from our pre-school a child can continue his education in any IB schools, international schools, private or public schools.
