Idea

The IB Diploma issued by the IBO in Geneva is a recognized certificate just like Polish Certificate of Secondary Education (Matura Certificate).

The International Baccalaureate Organization was founded in the late 60’s in Switzerland at the International School of Geneva. The originators of the international education were teachers and other specialists in the field of education supported by UNESCO.

The main purpose of the originators was to create a programme which could be suitable for students in different countries, a progamme with set standards applied equally to all schools.

The universality of the IB programme can be seen in the programme itself, in its language (English, French or Spanish) and in the achived results – acquired knowledge and skills are judged anonymously and externally, always according to the same criteria.

The results of the IB examinations are clear for universities all over the Word.

This is one of the biggest advantages of having the IB Diploma. Universities all over the world know the IB programme well and they can interprete the examination results easily. Over 30 years of experience proved that those young people who have the IB Diploma make perfect students.

The IB Diploma is recognized by universities in more than 100 countries which guarantees IB students access to the world’s leading universities.

Teaching staff.

Teachers wishing to participate in the programme have to fulfil high IBO requirements. The key to becoming a good IB teacher is to understand and identify with the IB philosophy. That is why the IBO organizes various workshops for less and for more advanced teachers. It is, therefore, necessary for all schools to have funds for teacher trainings.
