ANNA BUDZIAREK-FRIEDRICH - Teacher of Polish language, Polish literature and journalism "Graduate from the UW (The University of Warsaw), a doctoral student in the Department of Comparative Studies to the Faculty of Polish Studies at Warsaw University. The basis of good interpersonal relations is a successful communication. For several years, along with my students I learn the difficult art of dialogue. Literature is an excuse for us to talk about the essentials. Invariably, idealistically, I believe that our meetings and the exchange of ideas finally make us better... When I do not talk, do not read, do not check;) - I photograph or listen. My beloved ones for years: Hey, VooVoo, Porcupine Tree, Floyds, Dave Matthews, Soundgarden, Mars Volta... etc.. etc.” |

MARZENA LEŚNIEWSKA - Diploma Programme coordinator, history teacher employed since September 2002, graduated from the workshop on the IBO Middle Years Programme and Primary Years Programme "I was born on Friday 13th, much to my mother’s despair. I had a black cat, which crossed my way million times. I hose to study history to spite some person ...and it absorbed me. At the second year I came to Warsaw just for a moment to visit... and I stayed. It turned out that the transfer to the UW (University of Warsaw) without any loss of 2 years is feasible. At the fourth year, as the best student, I was recommended to work at Górska. I thought I would be here for a while. It has been 6 years now. I fought long from the IB program. I started last year and it sucked me for good. Is it possible for me to talk about bad luck?" |

JAKUB LORENC “I was to study law. I was not admitted. I missed one point. Then it turned out that 'coincidentally’ I did not tick easy answers in the worksheet. But in life there are no co-incidents. It was just supposed to be. I chose history because I was always interested in it, even though in high school I had no luck to teachers of this subject. And I totally got into it. At the university I had a better average than in previous stages of my education. A paper on laughther in the Middle Ages I wrote under the direction of Henryk Samsonowicz Ph.D., My doctorial work will be on Polish Medieval economy. When I am not thinking about history I listen to music. At home I have more than 5000 records. Who rules? Led Zeppelin, Rolling Stones, Queen, Pink Floyd, Radiohead, Massive Attack, The Police, Tool, Franz Ferdinand... Michel Jackson and Shakira." |

RENATA ŁUKASZEWICZ - Headmaster’s deputy "Curiosity of the world led me to the Department of Geography and Regional Studies at the University of Warsaw, which I graduated in 1983 and human curiosity led me to the threshold of Private High School No. 32. When, immediately after graduation I was offered a job at the School - remembering my own, not the best student experience - I said no. After years of listening to the stories my friends about the newly established school, and most of all, about the people who work in it I thought it worth a try and was not disappointed. I have met here and continue to meet unique people, diverse and curious, people with passion. I am glad that I could join them. My husband is a mathematician and a university teacher, I have two studying children." |

AGNIESZKA PIWOWARCZYK - Teacher of Polish (also as a foreign language), doctorate studies at the Politology Departament of the University of Warsaw, likes various sports (swimming, snowboard, sailing) sailing), and cats - in fact one cat named quite in accordance to Studies of Polish - Gustav "Usually, when I explain why I chose this particular profession (and I often have to explain, because the reactions of my speakers are sometimes extremely odd), I explain, half jokingly, that it was my innate love of extreme sports to make me choose this profession. And certainly being a teacher especially now is more often perceived as walking a tightrope - because how do you explain and tell the world that defies all descriptions, in which ‘everything solid melts in air?’ So I rather try not to answer but to teach how to ask questions, to teach criticism and constant search - primarily of the meaning and value Although I sometimes repeat like a mantra Szymborska’s sentence: ‘And I do not know and do not know and I cling to that like a redemptive handrail’ I believe that the support and confidence in these our strange, modern times can be searched for only in ourselves - in an ever-evolving personality." |
